The SCM Project Insights screen provides real time insights as to Resource and Skill availability.
Before approvals, the Project Manager can use the Insights Dashboards capability to ascertain the type and availability of likely resources required for tasks.
Click Project Insights under the Management menu and in the Capacity Management drop-down list, to access this dashboard.
This opens the following panel. By default, only the gap is shown in the grid.
The Project Insights dashboard is designed to give Project Managers a view of all the projects they manage and the status of those Projects in terms of demand and actual resources assigned.
As a Project Manager you can filter the display of projects using the control panel at the top of the dashboard.
Use the filters in the control panel at the top of the dashboard to:
View “Month From” / “Month To” to focus in on a particular period.
“Resource Department” this is the particular department or pool of Resources. You can choose a Resource Department from the drop-down list.
“Projects to Display” – the drop-down list gives you the choice of viewing all projects or to exclude projects that may not have their requirements fully identified yet.
By default, only the gap is shown in the grid. You can use the check boxes to show or hide columns for Demand, Allocated, Approved and Requested.
All of the Projects to which you have access are listed on the left with the Colour-coded grid to the right showing where there are issues.
Click the arrow next to a project to expand it to show the Skills that have been requested on the Project.
Click into the Project name. In our example we have clicked into the Innovation for change” project.
This opens the “Resource Demand” screen.
Click on the excel icon to export the underlying data to Excel.
