Each project has a calendar assigned to them which determines working and non-working days for the specific project. The project calendar can be altered by the project manager. This can be done by opening Properties within the desired project.
- Navigate to Project | Properties
This opens the properties pane.
- Scroll down to the “Calendar” option
- Click into the drop-down
Note: When projects are created, they will be assigned the default calendar.
Changing the calendar will reschedule the project.
Choose a Calendar from the drop-down list.
- Click SAVE
The following confirmation box will appear:
- Click CHANGE to confirm the switch.
Modify a Calendar
You can customise an existing calendar for a specific project by clicking the “Modify” link.
This opens the “Modify Calendar” pane:
- Click the date range at the top to open quick navigation.
Use the Arrows in the date range at the top of the calendar for quick navigation to previous/next year
or
Click into the date range window to select the date range you want to set.
You can now set the working days for the project:
This basically has an implication in terms of if you are trying to schedule people against work on a particular project. It allows you to determine what days of the week you can actually schedule that work for.
- Click on the days that you want to set as non working days for the project. In the below example we have made the 17th monthly a none working day.
- Click SAVE
A success message will be displayed.
This will now push out any tasks on the project plan that are scheduled.
Your new Project Custom Calendar is available in the drop-down list of calendars.
You can build out custom calendars and then use the drop-down list to select which calendar you want to view/use.
